HOWTO
setup Web Servers using FrontPage
This page is to help you setup a WebServer. I
have tried to make it as simple as possible for any user to follow. If you
proceed by the step by step process you should have a WebServer up and
running quickly.. Good luck.
Here’s the NETWORK Concierge page. Click
on the Hammer ICON and login to access the Network Concierge Configuration
Web Page.

You will need to login as concierge
administrator by entering the username “concierge” and the appropriate
concierge password to gain access to the NC Configuration Web Page.

Now click on the Web Servers
icon. The Web Configuration page will come up.

Click New.
Enter a name for the web site. In this case I have used
“sampleweb”. This will be what you type into the URL of your browser to
bring up your site. Next choose either to leave the owner as default
www or change to meet your needs. Now click on the
appropriate boxes to allow access from the Intranet and the Internet. Bring
up the Share Configuration page by clicking on the folder that says
Share.

Now name the share, this can
be the same as the Web name. In my case I chose to call it “sampleweb”.
Next choose the type of access you want your readers to have. I chose
Read Only to allow those on the Local Area Network to look but not
touch. You never know what people will do, especially coworkers. Next click
on each User and the buttons below to specify the type of access they
have to the site. N/A for not applicable, R-O for read only,
R-W for read and write privileges, and Def for what you chose
as your default (in our case Read Only). Once you have completed giving each
user access privileges click on the Apply button. Now click on the
FrontPage folder tab to get to the FrontPage Configuration page.

Check the Install FrontPage extensions
box to add the underlying Microsoft FrontPage support. Type in an
Administrator name. Then enter and re-type a password.

Once you have finished the setting up
the underlying structure you are going to use Microsoft FrontPage to build
you page. Click on Microsoft FrontPage.

Click on button for Create a New
FrontPage Web.

Next choose the type of FrontPage Web you would like to
create. I have chosen to use the Corporate Presence Wizard to create a
sample corporate website. Then choose a title for your FrontPage Web. I have
left the default My New Web. When done press OK. NOTE: For this sample
corporate web, the default settings will be selected for each screen, until
the FrontPage web is finished. Then the web is created on the local machine
prior to publishing it to the Network Concierge web server.

Read and press Next.

Select the main pages to include in your
web and press Next.

Select the topics you would like to appear on your Home
Page and press Next.

Select the topics you want to appear on
your What’s New Page and press Next.

Enter values for the number of product
and service pages the wizard should create and press Next.

Select additional items to display for
each product. Then select additional items to display for each service and
press Next.

Choose Web Theme and follow instructions given. If no press Next.

If desired, make sure Show Tasks
is checked and press Finish.

This is the Show Tasks page. To publish

you have already chosen for you web server. In this case, type http://sampleweb.
When finished click on OK.
